Deepoe’s mission is simple: to create and curate for the enjoyment of your home with our shared home in mind. It’s a one-stop shop for all your sustainable home good needs.

My role in this project was to spearhead the entire visual identity for deepoe; from branding, to photography, to web development, to marketing.


Branding

The client was looking for a brand design that encompassed several themes/motifs: simplicity, modernity, and elegance. They wanted a brand that was recognizable and scalable while not taking away from the beautiful bright products that made up their marketplace.






My solution was a minimal, type-based logotype and mark in a subtle faded black and offwhite color palette.

Imagery

All product imagery was to be confined to iPhone photography, so my challenge was to assist the client in set design, lighting, and editing product photography remotely. The client had little product photography experience so creating a set of guidelines and references was essential for the success of the imagery.The goal was to use as much natural light as possible and to ensure that the photographic style remained consistent throughout the product line and marketing materials.




We elected to– like the branding– keep our style minimal, with a simple offwhite seamless backdrop and window lighting with little modification. The editing style for ecommerce and product pages was neutral to allow for the best true-to-life color accuracy, while more stylized/marketing-friendly shots were warmed up slightly to give a nice early evening glow.

Marketplace (Website)

deepoe’s online marketplace was an evolving process as intentions, hiccups with Shopify’s rigid back-end, and timelines were in flux throughout the process. What was originally intended as a fully custom front-end design slowly evolved into a more simplified yet still custom design within Shopify. This site was also intended to be prioritized for mobile use since the client anticipated social media marketing to be it’s main source of traffic.
